Can you find what you need - not simply an endless array of options which could be nice but not necessary - in the mom and pop grocery? Must your children only gobble down Happy Meals or can there be a fewer stops at the drive-thru? What if we chose to substitute frequent grab 'n' go situations at a convenience store for more meaningful family meals at a beloved diner or iconic family restaurant?
Our brick-and mortar-businesses right here in front of us shouldn't need to send a special invitation to visit. When quality, friendly staff and quick, painless shopping is available right in our neighborhood, doesn't that seem worth celebrating and supporting? We must keep in mind that if we do ignore "the little guys" and instead choose to fatten corporate bank accounts in another country, one day those may be the only choices available.
