March 2020 | "Small Business Strong" from Live Local USA

Our current health/financial scenario is a true wake up call, one which has spurred many of you to mobilize and unite. Over the last week we've seen efforts launched by both organizations and ordinary people who have stepped up to assist entrepreneurs in the community, educate area residents about the value of local spending, and pass on the message that right now is a critical time for small businesses everywhere.

Our choices matter, so much more than just a careless whim on our way home from work which prompts us to park, get out of the car and go inside the familiar brick structure that's become a piece and part of our daily lives. These actions mean more than just who the person is we hand our hard-earned cash to, and we must not lose that connection to the people and places which have for years have been such an important part of our lives. Let's refuse to fall for the con which tells us life is better when ordered online; let's not cave into the illusion we are brainwashed with daily that would have us believe turning our back on friends and neighbors who operate small businesses is the smarter choice. We are better than this! Posts from the Facebook page Go Independent, Shop Small (Anywhere USA)

More than anything, I believe small business owners can easily feel isolated. Let's face it; some of us don't have a big staff and when you're mostly on your own it's easy to feel alone. Call up someone you know who may be starting to worry about an extended shutdown or loss of business and let them know you are there for them.
