Shop Small, Buy Better this February

"The commitment to our towns, neighborhoods and cities happens with each choice we make." Welcome to February, the Month of Love, and our collection of images and reminders to download, share, and repost on your social media channels. Together we speak up with a louder voice ~ pass on some heart-shaped messages this month to encourage and reminder your fellow residents to support meaningful growth and strength in the zip code you call home.

It's the sweetest time of the year to visit indie businesses which may be a little quieter during the winter months. We've actually created a set of graphics in blue, silver & grey shades celebrating this season! Here's a sneak peek of what they look like, and you can find the entire collection on our Facebook page here: Love for Local Winter Edition

Ideas for more significant February 14th spending: a visit to an indie winery, brew tour, confectionary maker, or experience dinner.

Look to the future; build sustainable communities for best results.

When you speak up, you have a chance to open minds. #useyourvoice

Actions with an impact make our lives better. #shopsmall

Family owned and locally operated companies provide your city with an air of diversity and authenticity. Commitment to boosting up the economy right at home is a sweet deal for everyone.

Don't. Forget. The. FLOWERS. But not just any flowers....ones that support real people, in actual businesses. For best results, we suggest ordering from an independently-owned, genuine florist.

Making a difference is a sweet way to help your city thrive.

Good decisions build sustainable places to live!

Ask yourself - I mean, why not consider it? Are you choosing a chain or online option just out of habit, when your local hardware store probably has the same exact product?

Studies prove your dollars are happier when unleashed in the local community at independent businesses. Okay, we made that up, but since the economic benefit of money distributed at small businesses DOES last longer, it makes purrfect sense to us.

Money doesn't get you everything, but knowing you play a role in someone else's success? That's big.

While the pandemic is "officially" over, many of the habits and regular choices people once made about going out and meeting and mingling at area venues HAVE changed. Business owners are still attempting to make ends meet on shrunken sales and enormous cost increases, and if we shift our dollars to chains and delivery apps just out of an insatiable desire for "convenience", we might be passing by the little places we're going to miss. A lot.

Wishing you a beautiful and happy month ahead! Please check us out on our social networks at the links below, and have a wonderful February. Thanks for visiting here!
