Support Your Locally-owned Independent Tack Shop

If you've followed my page on Facebook - the one with the oddly long name "Go Independent, Shop Small (Anywhere USA)", you may have noticed that our love and support of small businesses focuses quite a bit on niche markets and specialized independent retailers. And why not!? They are most often the best source of knowledgeable owners and staff, highly experienced hands-on type of people, who can recommend products, solve problems, and best of all, listen and give advice for your specific needs. How much better does life get!?

Several years ago I came across a page for indie tack shops - reminding consumers that there is simply no replacement for the value of a seasoned horse expert - and I'm the first to agree. You really don't find advice and guidance of people who live, breathe and sleep horses quite like you can from conversations shared in feed and animal supply stores. That's one excellent reason to choose your loyal, local businesses when outfitting a new horse, upgrading your gear, or solving problems. Some things just cannot be purchased online, ordered off the computer, or discovered in a box dropped at your door! Real people who are passionate about what they do, love and know; that's a one of a kind treat and a real treasure to find in today's world.
