Isn't that magical? The fact that each of us has the ability and the opportunity to change minds/open doors/enlighten just by making more thoughtful choices? I certainly think so. I just wish more people were interested in also thinking for themselves and perhaps discovering more useful options, like needing a shovel and driving 5 minutes to the local hardware store, rather than buying it online and waiting two days.

So why, then, are we so obsessed with online shopping and big chains? Are there possibly any better, more down to earth options and local choices that actually keep real people IN business? I think it's time we really stop and look at our habits and actions, and consider if we're buying online "because everyone else does it", or because we want to see our own community thrive.
