Something as simple, as humble, and as inexpensive as a cup of coffee....may not seem like a great big financial impact to you. But the point of "shifting our focus", making choices that support actual humans we live next door too.....that's where the power is. THAT's where we start to take back our streets and towns, cities and neighborhoods, from being turned into places that all look exactly alike; cookie cutter shells of one another. Because who wants to live where everything all looks the same, without real flavor and variety?

  

All of our purchases should mean something - they should be contributing to a cause, casting a vote, or saying "this is what we want to keep thriving and alive in our corner of the world". Without our efforts - without speaking up with each dollar we hand over to a stranger, what impact do we really have? Something as seemingly insignificant as purchasing a hot beverage still speaks up for what we wish to keep around, keep open, and remain a beloved small business of value. Why not select an independent to celebrate today, as well as looking up a couple of other independents to try as well?
